History of the Ship

The steamer Vyšehrad was launched in 1938 named as Antonín Švehla then. It was built by shipyard in Ústí nad Labem in one year. Later it was renamed to Děvín and in 1991 to Vyšehrad. The actual steamer is 64 m long, the beam is 6.2 m and the displacement 130 tons and the steamer may transport as many as 300 persons. There are several salons and restaurants with bars on the ship including the sightseeing salon with a dancing floor. The steamer is driven by the steam engine made by ČKD Praha with the output of 165 kW which helps the steamer to reach the maximum speed of 16 km/h at 42 rot/min. Vyšehrad together with another steamer Vltava create the basis of the fleet of Pražská paroplavební společnost.
